Stud Beef Victoria Inc. is an association comprised of representatives from affiliated beef and dual purpose cattle breed societies and associations. The key objective of the association is to actively promote the interests of stud beef cattle breeders in Victoria, contributing valuable input to the Australian beef industry.
The commitment to youth development in the beef industry is represented by delivering the annual Cattle Handlers Camp, which includes a tertiary scholarship through its annual Education Award, and the support and development of its youth subcommittee, Young Beef Victoria.
The major activity on the Stud Beef Victoria calendar is Beef Week, developed by Stud Beef Victoria in 1992, which is now regarded as one of the most significant marketing opportunities available to seed stock beef producers in south-east Australia.
Stock & Land Beef Week was held from 30 January - 6 February 2013, with nearly 300 studs participating.
2013 saw the second RASV Heifer Challenge, sponsored by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria, awarding $5,000 to the winning pen of 10 heifers.
Stud Beef Victoria also provides significant support for major beef shows, including the Royal Melbourne Show in September, and the National Beef Bendigo event, held in May each year.
